Meet the axolotl, the smiling "walking fish" that has won the hearts of kids all over the world! With its feathery gills, tiny hands and permanent happy face, the axolotl is one of the cutest animals to color. Our collection of 15 free axolotl coloring pages features axolotls swimming, sitting, dancing, waving and even taking a cozy nap.
Fun fact: the axolotl is not actually a fish. It is a salamander that lives its whole life in the water. It can even regrow lost limbs! Coloring these pages is a great way to start a conversation about amphibians, water habitats and why protecting nature matters.
Coloring ideas: Axolotls come in many natural shades such as pink, brown, golden and white, but feel free to use bright blues, purples and greens. Use a darker color for the feathery gills and add bubbles, plants and sparkles to make the underwater scene come alive.
